Angeles Lopez-Varo is a legal assistant who graduated early in December 2023 from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science-Prelaw and a minor in Law, Justice, and Public Policy. She is currently studying for the LSAT to further her career in the legal field and aims to become a criminal and family attorney in the future. Being a first-generation Mexican American born of immigrant parents from Guerrero, Mexico and being born and raised in Southwest Detroit, she was exposed to the US immigration system and the daily struggles of immigrants. She has previous experience in the legal field having worked as a legal intern at the Washtenaw County Office of the Public Defender in the Juvenile Neglect and Abuse Division. While interning there she helped various children all throughout the State of Michigan who needed legal representation in court.
