Marta Torres Cruz De Armas is a native of Havana, Cuba, who immigrated to the United States in 1980 during the Cuban Mariel Boatlift with her parents and siblings. Marta attended the University of Havana in Havana, Cuba. She went on to receive a degree in English and Computer Programming at Miami Dade College in Miami, Florida. Marta is passionate about helping others and shows great interest in the legal justice field. Marta went on to study legal courses, such as Introductions to the Law, Criminal Law, Family Law, and Immigration Law at Marist College in New York, New York, where she was recognized on the Dean’s List for achieving first honors in her higher education. Marta most recently obtained her paralegal certificate from American Immigration Lawyers Association University, where she studied basics in immigration matters, ethics, and professionalism; research and writing skills, asylum, family immigration, adjustment of status and consular processing, removal defense, citizenship and naturalization, and client services where she shows her attention to community issues.
